the dignity project

i am blessed to work for an organization whose mission is to share the love of Jesus Christ, meet human needs and be a transforming influence in the communities of our world. our core values are salvation, holiness and intimacy with God. within these values are the seven core operational values which guide all aspects of the salvation army in canada & bermuda. ~compassion: we reach out to others and care for them. ~ respect: we promote the dignity of all persons ~ excellence: we strive to be the best at what we do and a model for others to emulate. ~integrity: we are honest, trustworthy, and accountable. ~relevance: we are committed to the pursuit of innovation and effectiveness. ~co-operation: we encourage and foster teamwork and partnerships ~celebration: we give thanks by marking milestones and successes. i do not intend for this blog to only promote this organization, but because it has become a huge part of my life, i will mention it from time-to-time. please note, my comments are mine alone. i do not speak on behalf of the salvation army in any official capacity. i would like to bring attention to a way of living that has taken over my life. the dignity manifesto i believe that: everyone should have access to life’s basic necessities poverty is a scourge on society that puts dignity out of reach people’s lives change when they are treated with dignity everyone has a right to a sense of dignity the fight against poverty deserves my personal attention i have become part of a growing movement. more than 1,000 people have already signed up. join the dignity project! in doing so you’ll receive project updates, dignity story features and dignity event information. i hope you will join too!

enjoy your weekend!
